Hello and welcome to School of Martial Arts.
I am Sensei Santhosh Karunakaran, and Chief Instructor teach at School of Martial Arts for 20 Years.
Our School of Martial Arts was started in 2000, and is now a successful Fit India recognized School that specialises in Shotokan Karate, K-1 Kick Boxing,Yoga and Taekwondo.
School of Martial Arts is Government registered Organization under charitable and societies Act and affiliated to the Government of Kerala Youth Welfare board, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Indian Olympic Association and Kerala Sports Council.
I started Martilal Arts training at very little age. I got my Black belt from, Shorin - Ryu Seibukan Karate, Kaju - Kado Karate, Kyokushin and Shotokan
by years of training. I received my 3rd Dan. I proudly inform you I got District Youth Awarde for Social and Charitable activities from Nehru Yuva Kendra: Government of India.
I have competed in competitions all my life and Im a National Kick Boxing and Open Martial Arts and Karate Champion and have trained Karate internationally. As well as Karate, I have Black Belt in Kickboxing, Kungfu and Taekwondo and Passed in Boxing Instructor Course. I try to bring my knowledge from all all areas of martial arts in order for us to get a better understanding.
I have experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. I teach mainly in my Dojo at School of Martial Arts in India, Kerala, but since the pandemic, our club has been focused online. I try to make our classes as engaging as possbile, so it really feels like we are in the dojo, training together.
I enjoy teaching Martial Arts because I have seen the transformative effect it can have on the practitioner. It is never too late to start your journey.
In my courses you can expect to be taught how to defend yourself, whilst learning about Japanese culture, language and having fun.
Any Martial Arts training is not just about the kicking and punching. It can increase confidence, respect and compassion. Most importantly, it can teach us about ourselves.
